Facilities
We invite you to share God`s grandeur at Mariawald and to make your stay comfortable.
The main entrance has a ramp and is ADA accessible, as are washrooms in the lobby.
There is also an ADA fully equipped bedroom with ensuite full bath.
first floor
A Gathering Area is situated facing the pond and has a fully accessible entry ramp and washroom. It has facilities for making coffee and tea, and a refrigerator to hold cold drinks. An adjacent lounge offers the opportunity to relax and meet with friends or simply spend some quiet time.
Paula’s Place is a conference room next to the Gathering Area and seats around 35-40 people. It has a choice of rectangular or round portable tables and conference style chairs. There is a television/DVD player available. A multimedia projector and mobile projection screen may be provided on request.
The Private Reconciliation/Spiritual Direction Room: This room is situated next to the main office and is available for groups. It can also be booked on an hourly basis throughout the day and evening by counsellors and spiritual directors.
Second Floor
Mariawald Chapel overlooks the beauty of our pond and forest. It is exclusively a place of prayer. We consider this area a “sacred space” and try to maintain a quiet and contemplative silence in the chapel when it is not being used for communal worship services.
The Upper Room is adjacent to the chapel and is a comfortable place for quiet gatherings of several people.
Bethany Conference Room holds 12-15 people and has folding tables, chairs, and a media unit with television and DVD player.
The Book Nook offers a snug place to just relax and browse through some favorite reading.
The Kitchenette has a kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Coffee, black tea/herbal teas, milk, sugar, and sweetener are provided
Dining Facility
Our dining area is situated in the convent, a short walk from the Retreat Center and offers good home-style meals. We are not able to cater for exclusive or specialized diets and cannot guarantee that our kitchen or dining room is free from allergens such as peanuts, etc. (There are 2 refrigerators in Mariawald and a microwave, so it is possible to bring foods from home and keep them there) Our maximum seating is 44 persons.
